March 6th is World Lymphedema Awareness Day. March is lymphedema awareness month – a time to recognize that there are an estimated one million Canadians with lymphedema.
Lymphedema Impact and Prevalence International Study: The Canadian Data
LAM continues ongoing advocacy and awareness efforts by hosting an annual Lymphedema Awareness Day Symposium. On March 6th 2022, LAM participated in the 2nd Annual Light up the MB Legislative Building in recognition of Lymphedema awareness.

Take Action to Create Awareness for Lymphedema
- Spread the word!
Tell your friends, family and coworkers about Lymphedema.
- Educate and encourage those impacted by lymphedema to join us in our efforts.
- Write to your MLA or the health minister asking for increased support for lymphedema treatments and supports.
- Become a volunteer or a member of LAM
- Donate to further the work LAM is doing
